From 342 Industries and Microsoft Game Studios, Sneak Peek the new trailer supporting the upcoming "Halo 4" video game, intended to be the first of a new trilogy of "Halo" games, marking a return of the 'Master Chief' as the main playable character.

The original "Halo" series follows the interstellar war between humanity and a theocratic alliance of aliens known as the 'Covenant'. The Covenant worship an ancient civilization known as the 'Forerunners', who perished in combat with the parasitical 'Flood'. 
The main trilogy centered on the experiences of the 'Master Chief John-117', a cybernetically-enhanced human super-soldier, and his artificial intelligence (AI) companion, 'Cortana'.
In this setting, the term "Halo" refers to 'Halo' megastructures: large, habitable ringed structures, similar to the 'Orbitals' in author Iain M Banks' "Culture" novels, and to smaller versions in author Larry Niven's "Ringworld".
