"Holmes" Writer Enters "The Twilight Zone"

Writer Anthony Peckham ("Sherlock Holmes") is in final negotiations to script "The Twilight Zone", based on the classic Rod Serling-created TV series, as a big screen sci fi, horror, fantasy feature for Warner Bros. Pictures and Appian Way.

Peckham will rewrite a previous draft by Jason Rothenberg.

Matt Reeves ("Cloverfield") will direct.

Appian Way partners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce with Michael Ireland. Matt Cherniss will executive produce.

Serling's original "Twilight Zone" series debuted in 1959 on CBS, running for five seasons, with Serling writing more than half of 156 episodes.

In 1983, Warners released "Twilight Zone: The Movie," with both Steven Spielberg and John Landis directing segments.
