Walt Disney Studios report that the upcoming super-hero comic book fantasy feature "The Avengers", based on the Marvel Comics characters, will now be released in 3D.
The 'ensemble' movie stars Samuel L. Jackson as 'Nick Fury', Chris Evans as 'Captain America', Jeremy Renner as 'Hawkeye', Scarlett Johansson as the 'Black Widow', Chris Hemsworth as 'Thor', Robert Downey Jr. as 'Iron Man' and Mark Ruffalo as 'Bruce Banner'.
Tom Hiddleston also stars as the villain 'Loki', the half-brother of 'Thor'.
"The Avengers" is written and directed by Joss Whedon (creator of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer").
The new film will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, May 4, 2012.
