20th Century Fox has announced a July 18, 2014 release date for their untitled "X-Men: First Class" sequel, to be directed by Matthew Vaughn.
The film is due to start January 2013 to avoid scheduling conflicts with star Jennifer Lawrence, who will soon be shooting "The Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire". Lawrence will reprise her role as the shape-sifting mutant 'Mystique' alongside James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones and Lucas Till.January Jones ("Mad Men") will also return as the mutant 'Emma Frost' in a bigger role in the new movie.Marvel Comics' 'Emma Frost' debuted in the "Uncanny X-Men" #129 (January 1980), created by writer Chris Claremont and illustrator/co-writer John Byrne, as an urbane, mutant 'telepath'.
Initially known as the 'White Queen', she evolved from one of the most dangerous enemies of the "X-Men", into one of its most central members.As a mutant of enormous telepathic ability, Emma Frost is also capable of transforming into an organic 'diamond state' with enhanced strength and durability.
She is also capable of extraordinary 'psionic' feats, including broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind-control, altering perceptions and memories.
Emma Frost also has powers of psychic shielding, astral projection, mind switching, brain engram modification, mental sedation and the induction of powerful sensations via touch.
