Trilogy For Schwarzenegger's "Legend Of Conan"

Producer Fredrik Malmberg of Paradox Entertainment, rights holder of the written works of author Robert E.Howard, has confirmed that his upcoming Universal Pictures production "The Legend Of Conan", scripted by Chris Morgan, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as 'Conan The King', will be the first in a trilogy of new films.

"We have a great story", said Malmberg. "Arnold has been very instrumental to bringing this together saying, 'We gotta make a good Conan!' I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after."

"The idea is that this takes place after Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, ‘Do you remember the good ol’ days when Conan was around?’ And now it’s time for him to come back..."

As for directors, Malmberg said, "I’m a huge fan of Peter Jackson, but he must have spent over ten years in fantasy-land, and maybe his storytelling is slightly different from Conan’s. I’m not so sure Jackson would be attracted to Conan. It’s more fast-paced. 'LOTR' and 'The Hobbit' are great films of course, but his are maybe more high fantasy and 'Conan' more down and dirty."
