Developed by Catlin, Goldberg and Rogen, the series stars stars Dominic Cooper in an adaptation of the comic book series "Preacher" created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint.
"'Preacher' follows 'Jesse Custer', a pastor in the small Texas town of 'Annville', who becomes possessed by the angel/demon hybrid 'Genesis'. The terrifying incident flattens Custer's church and kills his entire congregation.
Custer journeys across the US looking for a Higher Power that can explain what has happened to him, while his new found powers allow him, when he wills it, to command the obedience of those who hear his words.
Joined by his girlfriend 'Tulip O'Hare', and the hard-drinking vampire 'Cassidy', the three encounter enemies sacred and profane, including 'The Saint of Killers', an invincible, 'Angel of Death', 'Arseface', a disfigured suicide survivor turned rock-star and the killer 'Reaver-Cleaver'.
They also encounter 'The Grail' organization that controls the governments of the world, 'Herr Starr', the 'Allfather of the Grail', several fallen angels and Jesse's own 'redneck' family including his nasty 'Cajun' grandmother and her bodyguard 'Jody'.
