Margot Robbie ("Once Upon A Time In Hollywood") reprises her role as DC Comics' 'Harley Quinn' in director Cathy Yan's R-rated feature "Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn)", written by Christian Hodson, co-starring Jurnee Smollet-Bell as 'Black Canary', Mary Elizabeth Winstead as 'Huntress', Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Ewan McGregor ("Trainspotting") as 'Black Mask', targeting a February 7, 2020 theatrical release:
"...after getting away from 'The Joker', 'Harley Quinn', with 'Black Canary', 'Huntress' and 'Renee Montoya'...
"...all come together to save the life of a young girl (Cassandra Cain) from an evil crime lord..."
'Roman Sionis' aka 'Black Mask', created by writer Doug Moench and illustrator Tom Mandrake, debuted in DC Comics' "Batman" #386 (August, 1985).
Roman was born to wealthy, self-absorbed parents, who cared more about social status in 'Gotham City' than their own son. Moments after Roman's birth, the delivery doctor dropped him on his head with his parents covering up the incident so their friends would not gossip.
Years later, Roman was attacked by a rabid raccoon at the Sionis family country estate and his parents forbade him to mention the incident to anyone.
Despite their dislike for fellow socialites 'Thomas' and 'Martha Wayne', Roman's parents continued to associate with them to maintain their social standing, forcing Roman to befriend their young son 'Bruce' (the future 'Batman').
His parents' hypocrisy had a deep impact on Roman and he grew to resent them and the 'masks' they wore in public.
Radicalizing as a wealthy criminal mastermind, wearing an ebony skull mask possessing mind controlling abilities that extend through the material of the animal masks his henchmen must wear...
...Sionis became the most powerful crime boss in Gotham.
