Marvel TV Studios are in development on a live-action adaptation of Marvel Comics "Secret Invasion" (2008), a crossover storyline that ran through an eight issue title involving a long-term invasion of Earth by the 'Skrulls', a group of alien 'shapeshifters' who secretly replaced government leaders and superheroes in the 'Marvel Universe' with impostors:
"..the shapeshifting 'Skrulls' are invading the Earth. Key figures in the 'Marvel Universe' have been replaced by Skrull sleeper agents.
"A possible Skrull invasion is on the horizon, whose seeds were planted during the 'Kree'/'Skrull' war.
"The question is who do you trust?..."
