"Masters of the Universe: Revelation" is the new 2-part animated TV series from Mattel Television and Powerhouse Animation, streaming July 23, 2021 on Netflix:

"...in a radical return to 'Eternia', 'Revelation' is a direct sequel series to the classic era of 'Masters of the Universe'.

"Featuring fan favorites 'He-Man', 'Orko', 'Cringer' and 'Man-At-Arms', the continuing story pits our heroic warriors and guardians of 'Castle Grayskull'...

"...against 'Skeletor', 'Evil-Lyn', 'Beast Man...

"...and the vile legions of 'Snake Mountain'.

"But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it's up to 'Teela'...

"... to solve the mystery of the missing 'Sword of Power' in a race against time.

"Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last..."

Under the direction of executive producer Lou Scheimer, the original Filmation cartoon "He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe", debuted September 5, 1983 with the episode "The Diamond Ray of Disappearance".

Running through 2 seasons, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", was one of the first animated series produced directly for weekday syndication, as opposed to re-runs primarily based on Saturday mornings. Totaling 130 episodes, with each season of 65 episodes stretching across 13 weeks, the series last aired "The Cold Zone", November 21, 1985.

The series is set on 'Eternia', ruled by 'King Randor' and 'Queen Marlena'. Their son, 'Prince Adam', can secretly transform into the powerful 'He-Man'...

... by holding aloft a magic sword, saying "By the power of Grayskull...I have the power...".

Prince Adam's secret identity of He-Man is known only by the 'Sorceress of Castle Grayskull', 'Duncan' aka 'Man-At-Arms', 'Orko', a floating 'Trollan' magician...

...and 'Teela', female 'Captain of the Royal Guard' and secret child of the Sorceress.

He-Man's nemesis is the evil wizard 'Skeletor'..."

Dark Horse Comics' "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" #1, the official comic book prequel to the Netflix TV series, is available July 7, 2021, written by Kevin Smith, Rob David, Tim Sheridan and illustrated by Mindy Lee, with covers by Stjepan Sejic,  Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart.
