"The Matrix Resurrections" aka "Matrix 4" is co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski, starring Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, reprising their roles as 'Thomas A. Anderson'/'Neo' and 'Trinity', opening in theaters and streaming on HBO Max December 22, 2021:
"..at the end of 'The Matrix: Revolutions' (2003), 'Neo' and Trinity are bound for 'Machine City', a place no human has ever visited, to broker peace between the two forms of 'existence'. Trinity is fatally wounded when their ship crashes, prompting Neo, who does not want to live without her, to sacrifice his life to negotiate a truce. This choice makes Neo distinct from every previous iteration of the 'One', who instead opted to restart the 'Matrix' and perpetuate the system of control.
"Dawn breaks on a new day, as the 'Architect' and the 'Oracle' meet to discuss the newfound peace between man and machine. The Architect agrees to allow any human to leave the Matrix and the Oracle predicts peace between man and machine will last as long as it can. 'Sati' arrives and asks if they'll ever see Neo again. The Oracle replies, 'I suspect so. Someday'..."
