Uptown 6 Stakes Out "Nanny & Hank"

Uptown 6 Productions, producers of the upcoming big screen comic book adaptation "16-Love" ,opening January 2012, has now optioned film rights to comic book publisher Bluewater Productions' "Nanny & Hank", the fourth Bluewater property to be optioned for film.

Other optioned Bluewater comic book properties include "Isis" at Paramount, "Sinbad: Rogue of Mars" with Morningside Entertainment and "10th Muse" at Universal Television, via Vanquish Motion Pictures.

"Nanny and Hank", is a four issue comic book miniseries from Bluewater Comics written by Mark L. Miller with illustrations by Steve Babb, based on an original concept by Darren G. Davis :

"...the life of an elderly couple is changed when they are bitten by a drunken vampire. Now they must cope with becoming children of the night in their twilight years while dealing with grandkids..."

In "Isis", the character is trapped 5,000 years out of time, a would-be Egyptian Goddess, who must adjust to her new life in 21st century Los Angeles :

"Using her 'mystical staff 'and a little help from her new friends, Isis will protect those around her from evil that may threaten their world. But how can she protect a world that she doesn't fully understand...?"

"Sinbad: Rogue of Mars", is a continuation of the "Sinbad" films that started in 1958 with "The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad", followed by "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" and"Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger".

Executive Producer Barry Schneer revealed that "Rogue of Mars" is the first of a new trilogy to bring the 'Sinbad' character to a new generation.

"I am thrilled to continue the amazing legacy my uncle, Charles Schneer began with '7th Voyage' and bring to the screen the 'Sinbad' movie that he and Ray Harryhausen never got to make."

"...In his 4th film adventure, 'Sinbad' and his crew find a magical urn and are soon transported to another planet by a ruthless and vengeful 'Jinn' bent on freeing his race who have been imprisoned for millennia and then laying waste to the ones responsible..."

"'Sinbad has always been one of more popular titles in our library, " said Darren G. Davis, Publisher of Bluewater Productions. "It certainly lends itself to a big-budget tentpole movie".

Morningside and banking partner, Pablo Antoniazzi, Director of the Brazilian Bank, Estratejia Investimentos, S.A. have co-ventured to structure the financing for the film.

Paul J. Salamoff has written the first "Sinbad: Rogue Of Mars" draft screenplay.

"The "10th Muse" comic book series, was optioned by Vanquish Motion Pictures "...to turn the eponymous hero into a television series..."

"10th Muse" follows a young law intern 'imbued with the essence' of the Greek mythological goddess of justice.

"We're going to sink our teeth into this treasure chest of storylines and spin them into a show that kicks ass with all the mystery and action the fans would expect," said Vanquish head Jay Douglas, who will also executive produce the TV series with partner Nav Gupta, Marc Manus and Bluewater’s Darren Davis.

Jennifer Quintenez will script the pilot.

"10th Muse" debuted November 2001 through Image Comics. In recent years, "10th Muse" has also appeared in several mini-series and graphic novels, most recently a collection of crossover stories with characters from other comic book publishing companies.

According to Vanquish, the TV series will revolve around a group of budding law students starting a prestigious internship at the San Francisco's DA's office:

"...At the heart is 'Emma Sonnet', who recently disappeared for a month in Greece and returns with no memory of her missing days. What she does come back with is a strange new gift, which drives her to pursue justice even to the point of bending or breaking the laws she’s devoted to serving. As Emma discovers her connection to the nine Greek Muses of antiquity, the underlying mystery of her power unfolds.

"Emma is the 'Muse of Justice' – the "10th Muse."
