Alcon Entertainment reports that actress Emmy Rossum ("Shameless") is in final negotiations to join the prepping Warner Bros Pictures adaptation of "Beautiful Creatures", joining cast members Viola Davis and Emma Thompson ("Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang").
Screenplay for the first adaptation of the five-novel "Beautiful Creatures" supernatural series by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, will be written by Richard LaGravenese :
"...high-school student 'Ethan Wate' meets and becomes bewitched by 'Lena Duchannes', a teenager whose family has moved to the small South Carolina town where he lives. The two must confront a curse that has haunted her family for generations as she comes to grips with her powers..."
Filming will start April 2012, in and around the New Orleans area.
