Hammer Stakes Out London-Based "Dracula"

According to international reports, Hammer CEO Simon Oakes has revealed his studio is currently working on a 'new' "Dracula" movie.

Hammer previously produced nine "Dracula' features between 1958 and 1974, with actor Christopher Lee starring as the vampire king in seven of those productions.

Oakes said Hammer is looking at the possibility of a 'contemporary' Dracula as well as a new "Frankenstein" movie.

"There's a number of 'Draculas' going on at the moment," said Oakes. "There's a 'Vlad the Impaler' film and a few other ones around, but we have a sense of what we'd like to do. It will be a London-based Dracula."
